Recover data on reformatted disk drives
One important thing to be aware of when attempting to recover deleted files after format functions have been performed is that reformatting of a disk drive or other digital media storage will delete all files stored on that drive or device. This in and of itself is not a problem, as almost all quality data recovery tools are designed to reconstruct files with their original file name and contents after. Data recovery after reformatting is fairly common and simple.
However, when one attempts to recover deleted files on a drive that has been reformatted they experience a poor percentage of recovery. Basically this task amounts to undeleting a file twice. In theory, this should be a simple and doable thing, but it seems that the process of deleting a file combined with the process of reformatting that file area results in destruction of the boot sectors, which most data recovery programs use to recognize file names and type.
